(1) Holes for mounting the stands of carrying side idler(Carrier, Impact and Self-Aligning Carrier) are slotted in oblong.
Mount the stand of carrying side idler to position their bolts in the center of these holes.

(2) Carefully put down rollers to the stand of carrying side idler as shown in Fig. 1-1.
And set carrying side idlers in such a manner as their center line aligns the center line of head pulley and tail pulley.

(3) Check the level of the face of conveyor frame for mounting carrying side idlers.

(4) If the conveyor frame is bent, correct the mounting position of carrying side idlers by means of shim plates.

(5) Holes for mounting the brackets of return side idler are slotted in oblong.
Mount the brackets of return side idler to position their bolts in the center of these holes.

(6) Put into the one end of roller shaft to the side hole of return bracket and carefully put down the other side of roller as shown in Fig. 1-2.

(7) When adjusting carrying and return idler for alignments of conveyor belt, loosen the bolts which serves to fix the carrier stand of return bracket to the frame. And hammer around the base of carrier stand or return bracket to adjust the position as shown in Fig. 1-3.
When hammering, be careful not to hit the bolts or nuts.
If the end of carrier stand or return bracket is damaged, it will be deformed.
Care should be taken to prevent this damage.
After adjusting the belt alignment, tighten the bolts and nuts with a spanner.
(1) Construction of roller
All rollers of idler are to be constructed with parts described in the following Fig. 1-4.
These rollers are fixed on the position of the stand or bracket.
(2) Attention should be paid to the rollers in operating.
Check whether they are moving or not.
If the conveyor is operated with the rollers not running, the motor will be overloaded and belt will be damaged or misaligned.
And the roller face will be worn unequally so that the balance will be lost.

Even if the bearings are recovered to the normal condition and rotates again, they are liable to stop rotating or not to rotate smoothly as before due to the following troubles occurred in the bearing.
In these case, the roller must be replaced at once.

1)The fatigue of bearing makes the sliding surface peeled off and an abnormal noise built in.
Furthermore, the ball is cracked or burnt due to the excessive friction.

2)If dust or water slits into the bearing, it will be worn or corroded.

(3) Care should be taken of the following items in carrying out maintenance and inspection.
1)Replace the roller if it makes a noise.
2)Replace the roller if its face is abnormally worn.
3)If the clearance between the roller and stand or bracket is smaller than the required dimension, check and repair it.
4)Remove the materials accumulated on the stand or bracket.
5)Remove the dust from the roller.
